Gearing up to do WAP...
- get an overview of WAP
Your first step will give you background as to the who, what, where and why of WAP. It is a fairy large, extensive project and having this information will help you in discussions as well as understand why the technology has developed the way it has.
- set your bookmarks
Think the development of the web moved fast? You aint seen nothing yet. Week by week it will seem like a new industry as the major players hift, sleeping giants awake, and companies come out of nowhere. These sites will keep you up on whats going on. Check frequently.
- Waptastic - an excellent source, not only for up to the minute news, but all sorts of WAP information as well.
- The WAP World - over at Wired, this is their WAP subsection. Kind of too-cool-for-school, but players talk to wired, so we should listen.
- WapHoleSun - A daily news site about the WAP world, I wouldn't let a designer see the site, but it does the job.
- Orktopas - Good listing of phones and WAP sites, trying to be the WAP Yahoo!. World's first WAP search engine.
- World Of WAP - A more general Wireless site run by the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association.
- get your tools
Its what you need specific to WAP. Appservers and what not you can keep, these are gateways, simulators and editors. You may just need the simulators depending on what you wish to do.
- Ericsson WAP Gateway - One of the many Gateways, including Jambala.
- Nokia's WAP Gateway - Another Gateway, the site has some useful info too.
- Open Source WAP Gateway - WapIT of Finland has established an OpenSource project for developing a WAP Gateway, it'll be good to look at the source.
- WapLite - Kind of a dinky little Gateway.
- Wapsody - Over at AlphaWorks, A simulaton of the WAP Protocal specs in Java

These are your quick ref guides and other interesting things you will use while in development.
- get into the developer's community
In this ever changing technical climate, no one is an island. Your development community will help you out when you are at your last grasp. All they ask is that you do the same.
- start learning specific technologies
This where it all comes togeather. Go, learn.
your physical library should include...
